Why does a normal person need a life coach anyway?

Why would any normal person need a life coach anyway? It’s a complete waste of money. You live, you learn, that’s life.

Any normal person probably wouldn’t need a life coach Michael. Usually only people who strive for excellence ask for coaching and are willing to invest in themselves in order to achieve that excellence; ask any Olympian or truly successful business person.

Not everyone lives and learns easily. Some people are challenged by the same issues and patterns over and over again.

As Einstein said “We cannot solve problems at the same level at which we created them.” That’s one reason people ask for life coaching; to get new perspective on old problems so that they can resolve their recurring issues instead of staying caught in a negative pattern, reliving the same things ad infinitum.

Going to a life coach can be kind of like going to a shrink, except instead of just talking, you get to bring your challenges to an expert in solutions who can, if you’ve chosen a good one, give you immediate practical advice on clearing those challenges quickly and effectively.

I work with a client in Texas who recently offered this testimonial “I would NEVER have believed that an hour on the phone with a person in a different country could affect such great changes in my perspective on things as well as creating physical healing for me. Talking to Joy for an hour is the equivalent of a year of therapy and so much more pleasant!!!” Jan Goff

That said it’s important to choose the right coach for you. My style of coaching is not for everyone. I’m the specialist you come to when you want to take a quantum leap forward, I don’t do ‘baby steps.’ I only work with people who are willing to take full personal responsibility for their challenges, and who are excited about taking the steps to do that. My job is to clear people of their blockages and teach them how to keep themselves clear so they aren’t reliant on anything outside of themselves.

That’s not always appropriate for people who like to take things more slowly or who are more interested in long term, on-going care.

If you decided you wanted to become a star basketball player the first thing you would do is find a great coach and start training. You wouldn’t hire a junior league coach, or a soccer coach who taught basketball on the side.

When you are really serious about excelling, you find out who is the best at DOING what you want to learn, and hire them to take you where you want to go. Notice the emphasis is on doing, not just coaching. Not everyone walks their talk, you wouldn’t want to hire a broke financial advisor even if he was offering very ‘affordable services.’

I’m an expert on life transformation; my entire life is a demonstration of my skills in this area. But I suck at organizing, so when I want to upgrade my organization skills and get inspiration on goal setting I see Arturo Reyes here in Vallarta, because he is demonstrably the best in that area. When I need a full scan diagnosis on a health issue, I contact my friend Cathy Bliss in San Diego, because she has the technology to give me the exact information I need. When I decided to upgrade my image and create a new look for my website I went to Griffin Page who is fortuitously in PV right now. Different people fill different needs Michael. We can’t all be good at everything; there are times when it’s wise to invest in expert help by hiring people to coach us through specific challenges, whatever they might be.
