Too often people go about thinking they have all the time in the world
“Oh I’ll do that when I retire/when the kids are older/when I win the lottery/tomorrow, I’ll do it tomorrow”
Acting as if tomorrow is guaranteed!

I walked with Death for 18 months after I was hit by a drunk driver. Told I’d be dead or brain dead by 30. I was 24.
Every morning I woke up I was a bit astonished.
I get to have another day? …Maybe!!
I have Right Now, that’s what I have.

Death and I got to be old friends. He asked questions that helped shape my world, and changed all my priorities.

“If you die today what will you take to God as the sum total of your life?”

Suddenly everything I’d considered so important and impressive, Didn’t look so crash hot when I showed it to God.
‘LOOK at all the money I made! All the ground breaking, glass ceiling busting achievements as a woman in a man’s world!
LOOK at all the Things I acquired, and I never consciously hurt anyone to do it. I’ve done so much after meeting you at 15.’

It was till impressive, but it didn’t feel important any more.
So I sat with myself until I found something I would be proud to take to God, and I founded my whole life on it.

‘I made each life that I touched more JOYful, and all life better for my being.’

It hasn’t been an easy life, but it’s a life I am proud to be able to present to God when I’m finally allowed to go Home. I reckon God’ll say “Goodonya Mate!“
